Now Reading: MINAMATA CONVENTION ON MERCURY (2013)

CRITERIA FOR ALIGNMENT

Back
  1. Operational Integration
POWDER HOUSE structurally integrates the core principle of the Minamata Convention by eliminating all possible sources and pathways of mercury use, emission, or release. Its process is entirely physical-mechanical, operating without any chemical synthesis, catalysts, or metallurgical operations. There are no chemical reactions, effluents, or materials that require mercury-based stabilization. Mercury is not excluded by control—it is rendered irrelevant by design.
  2. Measurable and Non-Substitutable Contribution
The model contributes directly to global mercury prevention by ensuring zero use and zero release across air, water, and soil. It does not use any materials containing mercury, nor any machinery or inputs with potential mercury contamination. This level of elimination cannot be achieved through filtration, capture, or conventional remediation—it is only possible via a system that is structurally mercury-free and dry at all stages.
  3. Structural (Not Cosmetic) Character
POWDER HOUSE does not invoke the Minamata Convention in its external communications. However, the absence of mercury is not a voluntary commitment—it is a technical fact. The process does not involve any interaction with metallic inputs, thermal volatilization, or chemical precursors that could generate or carry mercury traces. Its compliance is structural, not narrative.
  4. Full Lifecycle Impact
At all stages—input, processing, product formulation, distribution, and post-use—there is no contact with, emission of, or residual accumulation of mercury. The biomass used is food-grade and pre-screened, the process is dry and closed, and the final ingredient is inert with respect to heavy metal contamination. No risk of mercury exposure exists for workers, consumers, or ecosystems.
  5. Coherence with the True Purpose of the Treaty
The Minamata Convention aims to prevent chronic, cumulative, and cross-border mercury pollution. POWDER HOUSE represents a model that avoids the need for such protection altogether. It not only complies—it makes mercury risk structurally impossible. This goes beyond legal compliance to embody the treaty’s preventive and systemic vision.
  6. Visible and Independent Evidence
POWDER HOUSE’s production process confirms the complete absence of mercury use, emission, or release across all lifecycle stages. No mercury-containing substances, machinery, or stabilizers are employed, and the system’s dry, closed architecture prevents any potential for contamination. While this configuration is thoroughly documented and technically verifiable, a formal third-party audit has not yet been conducted. Thus, this criterion is considered partially fulfilled, supported by strong internal evidence pending independent corroboration.
